So here it is. The beginning of a long, and fulfilling relationship with my computer. I even have little butterflies like in any new relastionship. Then again, that could be because I'm nervous someone will read this that shouldn't. Oh well, what else can I expect as I'm posting this on the world wide web. Even if it is private, there is still that chance. But really, who can keep all of their emotions and feelings bottled up inside forever?
So, Ridin' the Rollercoaster. See, I've always said my life is like a rollercoaster. It's got some of the highest highs and some of the most gut-dropping bottoms along with a few twists and flips here and there. The funniest thing about this analogy, I love rollercoasters. I have stood in line for well over 4 hours at Cedar Point just to ride one of them on the off chance that it would change my life I guess. My life, not so much in love with it at the moment, but I can't say I hate it either.
Let's start from the beginning (you might wanna pull up a chair, this could take a bit):
I was born to a very loving family. I was the first grandchild on my dad's side and the 4th on my mom's side (3 of us with very close birthdays). I was a typical baby, 7lbs 1/2oz. Rather cute if I do say so myself. My parents had lost their first child just a year before so they were extremely protective of me. Every cough was a call to the doctor. But that's ok, it was kinda nice from what I remember (which would be none, by the way). My sister, Halley, was born 2 year and 5 days later and we were inseperable. Then along came Ben. He was a surprise to all, especially my parents. He was born 10 days shy of 6 years and 2 months after me. He is the baby of my mom's family (of 8 grandchildren total) and he and my cousin on my dad's side are almost the same age.
I grew up in a pretty typical American household. We were broker than broke sometimes. In fact, my dad was (still is) the custodian in the school system, and we were so broke that the cooks would send home food for all of us (like cheese and such). But, again, I was a typical kid. Give me a box and I'm satisfied for hours. We were very blessed to have older cousins (my mom's sister's kids) that would give us hand-me-downs all the time. And let me tell you, they were all desinger clothes!
When I was in 7th grade my family moved for the first time since my dad bought the house when he was 18. We moved about a mile. But it was in the same neighborhood that all the cool kids road the bus so that had to be a step up. And in fact, it was. We were blessed with some great neighbors and an all around HUGE house compared to our previous.
In high school I pulled average grades. I would get in trouble frequently for being to boy oriented and gossipy. In fact, my sophomore year I started dating a senior from another school district. He was *hot*. We dated all through the rest of my sophomore year, my entire junior year and my entire senior year. At my senior prom he proposed to me. Holy shitballs! So after graduation I broke up with him to move on to bigger and better things.
I had the best summer of my life and then followed it up with college. College started out great. I made friends, I rushed and joined a sorority (the hot girls :) ), I was doing well in classes and just overall enjoying myself. I dated a few guys here and there and had a bit of a crush on a Senior who I later found out fell hard for me. But that's a whole other story...
I finally started dating someone that I had been pursuing all summer (we worked together) late into my freshman year and life was looking good. We went to different colleges about an hour and a half apart, but we were determined to make it work. And work it did. My sophomore year he pearled me (like a pre-engagement thing in my sorority) and then the summer between my sophomore and junior year, he popped the question with a gorgeous rock! Of course I said yes! And then began the rest of my life.
I was determined to graduate college before I would get married to anyone, even if Matthew McConaughey asked me. So I gradauted May 5, 2006 and was married June 10, 2006. It was crazy busy, but it was what I wanted.
I think the rest can wait for another post, I should get some work done....
A little bit of the rollercoaster I call my ever-changing life...
